What is Asset Type?

An Asset Type is a category or classification used to group similar assets together. It helps in organizing and managing assets more efficiently by defining a common structure for assets that share similar characteristics. For example:

  • Asset Type: Conveyor Belt

    • Assets: Conveyor Belt 1, Conveyor Belt 2, Conveyor Belt 3
  • Asset Type: HVAC System

    • Assets: HVAC System 1, HVAC System 2

By categorizing assets into types, you can streamline maintenance, reporting, and tracking processes.
